Community Outreach
The Advocates’ Community Outreach programs bring essential resources directly to those who need them most. From daily encampment visits to large-scale public health campaigns, our dedicated team works hand-in-hand with residents to build trust, offer support, and connect individuals with life-changing services.
Homelessness Outreach
Our outreach teams canvass local encampments and vehicular housing locations every day, offering free meals, hygiene kits, and warm clothing. We build relationships to:
- Connect unhoused neighbors with emergency shelter and transitional housing resources
- Provide case management and social service referrals on-site
- Distribute over 5,000 meals and 10,000 care packages annually
Public Health
Partnering with UMOJA Health and the Bay Area public health network, we lead COVID-19 education, testing, vaccination, and ongoing health promotion efforts:
- Recruit and train over 200 volunteer health ambassadors
- Facilitate 300+ free testing and vaccination events across Bayview Hunters Point
- Distribute 350,000+ items of PPE and sanitation supplies
